During the early 1990s, I did some volunteer work with the Canadian Review of Social Policy (CRSP), a social policy journal that was produced (at the time) at the Carleton University School of Social Work. The journal's editorial board would determine content for each issue, and my technical "team" would put the product together and distribute copies to subscribers. I found it an enriching experience, both in terms of networking with folks from academia and the NGO sector (I was a federal civil servant at the time, since retired...) and disseminating significant policy research and thought-provoking ideas and debates on progressive social policy in Canada.

Responsibility for the Canadian Social Policy Review was transferred to York University last year, but the composition of the editorial board remains interdisciplinary (academic/NGO), and the mission of CRSP - to promote collaborative, progressive social policy to build a better society in Canada - remains close to my heart. Below, you'll find an invitation to subscribe to CRSP that the editorial board recently disseminated; I was asked to post this on my site to promote the journal. [Please note that I don't generally "advertise" information that costs money, nor do I promote learned journals as a rule --- this is a special case, though, because of my earlier involvement with the CRSP journal --- Gilles]
