[ Go to Canadian Social Research Links Home Page ]

The Government of Canada Publications website [ http://www.publications.gc.ca/ ] has electronic versions of many of the NCW reports going back about 20 years.
For example, here's the search result page using "Welfare incomes" as search string:
http://goo.gl/dnp4O
Click the link for the year of the report you wish to obtain, and (on the next page), click the link beside "Electronic Document" for a full copy in PDF format.
This is a pretty complete collection of links to the Welfare Incomes series of reports.

How to find any NCW reports that are
available on the publications.gc.ca website:

The Government of Canada Publications website doesn't allow visitors to view collections of reports by author or group (e.g., search for everything from the National Council of Welfare.) It does, however, allow visitors to search by Title.

So:

1. Select one of the titles (but don't include the date) of any report in the list below by highlighting it with your cursor (while holding down the left mouse button).

2. Copy (Ctrl+C) the title you just highlighted.

3. Paste the title (Ctrl+V) in the Search Box link:
[ http://www.publications.gc.ca/site/eng/search/search.html ] .
On the search page, be sure to click "View only publications available for download or order."

3. Hit Enter.
Download relevant reports from search results page.

The following is a complete list
of titles of NCW publications up to Fall 2007.

Note by Gilles:
You probably won't find many (if any) reports predating the mid-1990s in Publications Canada's digital collection...
